Vegan Fish Stick Sandwich

Ingrediënten


Preparation

  • Deep frying (recommended):
    the best results are obtained by frying Vegan Fisherman products in vegetable frying oil (180 °C) for 2 – 4 minutes.
  • In the electric oven (220 °C) or hot air/ fan oven (200 °C): bake for 13 – 15 minutes, preferably with 10% steam (if possible).
  • In Airfryer: 15 minutes at 180 °C. Don’t forget to turn regularly. High- speed oven
  • In the frying pan: Bake until brown on all sides within 6-8 minutes with plenty of oil or vegetable butter/ margarine.

If you have heard about traditional Dutch Fish Sticks and how they ‘should’ be presented, we are gonna prove you wrong! Let us win you over with this sandwich as your perfect lunch dish. Spread your favourite sauce on the bottom half of a freshly baked bun. (Curry, mustard, vegan (herb) mayo are all-time winners, but try mixing mayo with wasabi for a Japanese touch!)

Place your freshly baked plant-based Fish Sticks on it and garnish it with colourful and refreshing slivers of raw vegetables. Finish with a spicy topping, such as cilantro, basil, or spring onions.

Vegan Fish Stick Party Snacks

Bake the Vegan Fisherman Fish Sticks exactly as you love them. In the meantime, grill some cut zucchini strips (lengthwise) in a pan, oven, or (table) grill. Pro-tip: coat them with olive oil mixed with spices for an extra flavour dimension!

Once the Fish Sticks are ready, wrap them in the freshly grilled zucchini strips. Then, first insert a flag or another fun food pick through a juicy cherry tomato, and then through the rest of your beautiful creation to keep it together. A curl of fermented vegetables, pickled onion, or kimchi on top transforms this snack into haute cuisine. Drop it when it’s hot!

Traditional Dutch Fish Sticks

Ingrediënten

  • Vegan Fisherman Fish Sticks
  • Peas
  • Carrots
  • Lemon
  • Sauce of your choice (for dipping, optional)
  • French fries, potatoes, or other side dish (optional)

Bereidingswijze

  • Frituur (aangeraden):
    Het beste resultaat krijg je door 2-4 minuten te bakken in plantaardig frituurvet op 180 °C.
  • In de oven:
    13-15 minuten bakken op 220 °C (heteluchtoven: 200 ∞C). Bij voorkeur met 10% stoom.
  • In de Airfryer:
    15 minuten bakken op 180 °C. Vergeet ze niet regelmatig te keren.
  • In de pan:
    Rondom bruin bakken in 6-8 minuten in een bakpan met ruim voldoende olie of plantaardige boter/ margarine.

Never change a winning team: peas, carrots, and fish sticks belong together like fish, water, and algae. Sadly, though, these days, them poor fishies are drawing the short end when they are fished from their habitat. But not in this adapted version of the simple, quick, and oh-so-traditionally delicious recipe.

The Vegan Fisherman Fish Sticks are just as crispy and golden brown as the ones ‘from the old days.’ Just much more heart-warming, since “no fish got hurt in this process.” Fry or bake them in a pan or oven for a healthier version with lower fat content. Let the little ones swim freely in a pond of warm peas and carrots, under a drizzle of lemon juice.
