Oriental Vegan Shrimps

Ingrediënten

  • Vegan Fisherman Shrimps
  • Fresh lettuce or leafy greens of choice
  • Strips of raw Thai chili pepper
  • Salty soy sauce
  • Sweet soy sauce / ketjap manis
  • Sriracha, sambal, or other hot sauce
  • Water (optional)
  • Lemon juice (optional)
  • Sugar (optional)
  • Strips of green onions (optional)
  • Chopped peanuts (optional)

Preparation

  • Deep frying (recommended):
    the best results are obtained by frying Vegan Fisherman products in vegetable frying oil (180 °C) for 2 – 4 minutes.
  • In the electric oven (220 °C) or hot air/ fan oven (200 °C): bake for 13 – 15 minutes, preferably with 10% steam (if possible).
  • In Airfryer: 15 minutes at 180 °C. Don’t forget to turn regularly. High- speed oven
  • In the frying pan: Bake until brown on all sides within 6-8 minutes with plenty of oil or vegetable butter/ margarine.

Pluck the greenest leaves from the lettuce or choose your favourite, raw, leafy greens, like spinach or pak choi. Wash and dress the leaves and prep themlike a welcoming bed on a plate or platter. Bake, stir-fry or deep-fry the Vegan Fisherman Shrimps as described on the box, and garnish with freshly cut strips of chilli pepper. Sliced spring onions and peanuts also complement this dish like a charm.

Start preparing the dip with a combination of salty soy sauce and sweet soy sauce (ketjap). Add sriracha, sambal (chilli paste), or any other hot sauce if you like it spicy. Went a bit overboard? Bake the Vegan Fisherman Fish Sticks exactly as you love them. In the meantime, grill some cut zucchini strips (lengthwise) in a pan, oven, or (table) grill. Pro-tip: coat them with olive oil mixed with spices for an extra flavour dimension!

Once the Fish Sticks are ready, wrap them in the freshly grilled zucchini strips. Traditional Dutch Fish Sticks

Ingrediënten

  • Vegan Fisherman Fish Sticks
  • Peas
  • Carrots
  • Lemon
  • Sauce of your choice (for dipping, optional)
  • French fries, potatoes, or other side dish (optional)

Bereidingswijze

  • Frituur (aangeraden):
    Het beste resultaat krijg je door 2-4 minuten te bakken in plantaardig frituurvet op 180 °C.
  • In de oven:
    13-15 minuten bakken op 220 °C (heteluchtoven: 200 ∞C). Bij voorkeur met 10% stoom.
  • In de Airfryer:
    15 minuten bakken op 180 °C. Vergeet ze niet regelmatig te keren.
  • In de pan:
    Rondom bruin bakken in 6-8 minuten in een bakpan met ruim voldoende olie of plantaardige boter/ margarine.

Never change a winning team: peas, carrots, and fish sticks belong together like fish, water, and algae. Sadly, though, these days, them poor fishies are drawing the short end when they are fished from their habitat. But not in this adapted version of the simple, quick, and oh-so-traditionally delicious recipe.

Classic batered chunks

  • white wine vinegar

  • peeled tomatoes (from a can)
  • oil of your taste
  • red, dried chilli flakes
  • garlic
  • white onion
  • sea salt and black pepper
  • basil (fresh or dried)

Everything is constantly changing. Heat up oil in a frying pan with non-stick coating. Add shredded or cubed white onion first. After 3 minutes, add the finely cut or pressed garlic. Let this cook together for 2 minutes, then add the can of peeled tomatoes. Add all other ingredients and let it cook and thicken on low fire and under regular stirring until it has become a delicious, thick sauce. Bon appetite!
